Hey, hows everyone doing? Remember about the missionary trip which i mentioned in the previous post? Well the organizers changed the location of the mission, to Bandung Indonesia, however our aim was still the same! RAWR!!! lol. Well my main duty in the team was being the photographer. So just look at the pictures below.

So our team flew from LCCT on 1st August to Bandung by AirAsia.

In conclusion, the trip has taught me to cherish my family, and also appriciate what I already have. Im glad being able to do something for those in need and hope it will leave an impact on their lives, so that they will too give to the sociaty, once they are capable.

The mission ended on 11th August. Few days later, I met up with Chin Loong, Weison and Wee Kiat.

Spring - Summer 09 Collection

Hey all, guess who's back to resuscitate the blog! Haha, don't get the title wrong, its not a fashion show(lame joke). I'm still alive here at Moscow, didn't get bashed up by skinheads yet, still playing DotA, and still single. Haiz....

Today was my Biology finals, where the exam as held at the Biology department, located at the outskirts of the city. It takes approximately 1 hour on Metro(subway train) to reach there.

As you can see, its already the middle of spring now. Flowers blooming, birds flying, the smell of raging hormones in the air. Average temperature is at 19 Celsius. By the way, see those small huts, those are garages where Russians park their car and hide their junk from the public or porn their wife.

The sight of green is everywhere, comparing to white in my previous post.

Some weed where naughty people(unlike me) take and blow at other people's hair.

On the way back to the Metro station from the Biology building. I wonder who is that naughty boy. Tsk tsk. before leaving, I went to KFC to had lunch with my friends.

I ordered chicken wings( Hot & Spicy) and 0.5l Coke (price: Rm 14). After feeling bored of 'cuci-mata' with Russian girls, I and my friends head back to the city center.

Here is Arbat street, one of the tourist sites in Moscow, and among the few places where Russians could actually understand simple English.

The street is also famous for the variety of international cuisines like Japanese food, Italian and Western. Batu Keras Moscow is also located along this street. (Batu Keras = Hard Rock)

My room's new arrangement. I divide it with the clothes cupboard. Though the room looks smaller, at least i got more privacy now. Remember when i say my roommate was a 33 year old with 3 girlfriends? well he shifted off after an argument with me about him bringing those girls in. Now another Arabian replaced him, and he's another fucking pain in the gluteus maximus. But at least this one has only 1 girlfriend. I realised now what people do during winter, where its too cold to go out and have nothing to do beside sleep. They reproduce! Free 'show' for me every weekend. An adventurous one, as he dares to do it, even though I'm in the room, at the opposite side. (for your info, his gf is the size of a gorilla. I wont even want to peep, even if u pay me too. Listening to her primate call(moans) makes me shiver)

Finally is my messy table, where i study, pawn noobs, chat, Skype, and watch 'stuff' online.

No more other pictures for now. Will have my final exam on the 15th. Will be flying back on the 23rd of June, and be in KL for a week. Wanna meet up anyone? Will be at KL on the 14th of July as well, meeting up with my old housemates and Darren if you still remember him. Will be free till early Aug. In Aug, I will be going to a small island off Sumatera called Pulau Nias (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nias) following a group of other volunteers for missionary service. watch this video for more details (<---- WATCH!!!). Now I need your support! We need financial support from every possible source. Though this program is organised by a Christian fellowship, I as a Buddhist feels that there shouldn't be any religion barriers when it comes to helping those who are deeply in need. The world is not as pleasant as it seems. Nias was badly affected by the tsunami, YOUTUBE the island and you can see the level of destruction. Help support if you hear my call or just pray for them, or you can just be ignorant asshole and don't give a fuck about it.

I will be returning from Nias at the end of Aug, and will be flying back to Moscow on the 30th of Aug. Till then, bye and hope to meet you all soon. GG WP GL HF.

1st report from Moscow (by Tony Sin)

Greetings friends in Malaysia & all round the world!!!
I'm back with an update on how life in Moscow is.

Firstly, let me introduce you all to 'Shaumar'. It contains roasted marinated meat wrapped in a piece of 'Lawash'. Its a popular Russian snack (but for me I consider it a full meal, due to its large size. LOL) which cost around 140+rubbles, or RM20+ each

It tasted like 'Siew Yuk' which is found in Malaysia, however the meat here is more tender and juicy.

The picture above shows the meat being wrapped in a piece of Lawash. Lawash is thin like our Malaysian roti tissue, but less oily, however more salty and contains spices. The texture is rough like a paper bag, maybe due to the flour used. So I just called it roti tisu tandas. Haha, I don't know much, but I know it is tasty and filling.

Here is a picture of my messy room. The bed on the left is mine, and right, my 33 years old room mate which is a orthopedic surgeon serving in a hospital nearby. By the way, he's a Syrian and has 3 different girlfriends.

If you all have wondered, what is the meaning of a block, actually my hostel (which is called Spartivnaya) consist of many blocks=rooms on each floor. In each block, there are 3 rooms, a kitchen, a meeting place and a toilet. So my block number is 210, while my room number is 210/2. Not so hostel like, but cant consider it to be apartment like to.

The time difference is we are 5 hours behind Malaysia(daylight saving) and the exchange rate is RM1 is 7.7rubbles, which you cant buy anything here except donating to the beggars.

G12 Gathering!

Ok, so here here's a recap of our last week's g12 class gathering. After 6 long months, I've finally managed to get half of the class together for a little gathering. Those who were present on that day were:

Hardeep, Hui Hua, Cheryl, Winnie, Preeya, Lisa, Pei Chern, Ashwini C, Sook Cheng, Weison, Tony, & Seng Chuin.

Mrs Kalpana was also present last Saturday, it was real nice of her to drop by, as she actually had something on later on the very same night.

So by around 5.30pm, almost all of them were present, minus Tony, Weison, Sook Cheng, & Seng Chuin. We sat down at a small corner, which was...

Before the food arrived i decided to pull out my birthday surprise plan of the day for Sook Cheng. I've managed to get this Mud Chocolate Cake from Zen before we went to Nandos, and with Cheryl's help, I've managed to smuggle it into Nandos without Sook Cheng's knowledge.

Initially, my plan was to get Sook Cheng to order the so called special desert of the day from the waiter, which would be a signal for the cake, & when the cake arrived, we would all sing a birthday song for her. But alas, the plan did not work...as usual. The manager of the place told me that the refrigerators were all full with stuff, and that the remaining ones were out of service.

So Cheryl and I had to go to one corner, manually light the candle and bring it to Sook Cheng. Well, nevertheless, it wasn't too bad. Sook Cheng did not expect it, as least that's what i hoped. But well, it was better than nothing. She seemed happy with the cake and that's worth every single bit of the effort for me. Thanks so much to Cheryl for all the help you gave, haha, doing surprises is just not my kind of thing.

After waiting for quite a while, the waiter finally arrived with our food. Here's what i had:

But guess what Pei Chern had?! Her special set of the day turned out to be...some...hangman stick with a plate on the base and a long nail-like stick hanging from the top, scary-looking i must say, haha, i dunno how to describe it, have a look for yourself...

We sat down and continued cahtting as we ate, and how does time fly, before we know it, it was already 7.30. We decided to make a move...but there was just 1 problem...settling the bill. Apparently the person at the cashier did not want to separate the bill, so we stood around a table and started applying our superb mathematical skills. It was funny i tell you...it took us around 10 minutes to finally settle the bill, and the discussion was so intense that it just felt like one of those PBL sessions we nave in uni, haha.

So with that, we bid our farewells and went back home. It was a great gathering, being able to meet up with everyone after so many months in uni. Thanks so much to all of you guys for popping by. I saw these before in Venice, Italy, but it certainly was shocking to see Maxis using this to promote their Activ10, haha, i really wonder how much they were paid by the hour...that's if they could last there for an hour! There were actually aunties posing with these poor people. Now we have a candidate for the worst job in Malaysia. Haha, ok, take care g12!

The date has been confirmed, that's for sure. Same goes for the time, it'll be around noon, and i thought of having it at Mid Valley, though the only problem now is, getting a place that can accommodate 20+ people during lunch hour on a Saturday afternoon. Most restaurants there won't allow pre-booking during the weekend, as it is usually packed with people then, so i'm afraid we might not be able to get a place to fit all of us there.

Anyhow, i'll be working on it, and will inform all of you as soon as possible. If any of you know of a place that might be suitable for our gathering and is also convenient in terms of accessibility, do tell me ok? Thanks

Haha. Never in my life would I have ever imagined myself doing something like this. Hmm.
It feels kinda weird too, I mean, my first ever public published blog post :O On G12's page.

Anyways, since the whole page seemed pretty dead and all that. Here comes Kelly reporting from Monash~! Haha. Whoosh. You know, it's already May and all that. Everyone has definitely moved on from G12 one way or another. It's strange. I know I never really was close to many of us/you/G12-ians. Somehow, we didn't really seem all that together, huh?

That was only after the first few months, though. But I NEVER was in the whole together thing so what the heck.

I mean, I remember being super pissed. Haha. Like SUPER, *insert the word here* kinda pissed, when my photo just HAD to turn up in the Winangali. Or how my email was actually wrong. Lol. I thought I should just throw a bomb and blow up the place. Uh-huh. Well, if anyone actually gives a shit, my CORRECT contact could be obtained from my Facebook :D Go fix your mag. Hahah.

Well, it's my 11th or 12th week in Monash and I've met a few other people from SAM. People I've seen before, people I've never, people I'd never thought I'd meet, people I've been DYING to meet (lol) and the such. It's sorta strange how some people would have probably noticed you before. How you would have recognized others but they would have not, you.

It's funny. I could have picked up something you dropped.
Or just passed by you speaking really loud.

It's funny. How we walk in and out of people's life. Slipping in, like water through tiny cracks. And leaving in exactly the same way. Sometimes even, unnoticed.

I do kinda regret a little, that I'm almost always never there. In any of the functions we ever had. Always off, somewhere else, with other people. That I never really got to know certain people better and all that.

But I don't think that it could have turned out any other way, then how it already did.

sook's IMU orientation experience

now that wee kiat has got the ball rolling, i shall post up my own orientation experience (though the whole thing was copy paste from my blog... too lazy to write a new post on it)

orientation week is finally over.... and damn it was tiring.
I was in group 3 aka 3pah (3= sam in cantonese)
lame right. ahahahaha. med + dental students calling themselves sampah.

each group had to come up with a long n short cheer + a flag.
our flag was obviously a garbage bin (with a face made out of paper and aluminium can).
our long cheer went something like this:

our short cheer was just yelling out sampah according to the pharmacy's group cheer.
which proved to be contagious since at the end of orientation random ppl form other groups were also yelling out our cheer.

we had a bunch of activities. and i can proudly say i went for all the activities xcept finale night (cause i got no transport ma).
dry icebreaker was a bit boring. we had moments where we had completely nothing to do.

track trip was just a shopping trip to one of the many shopping malls in KL. our group got KLCC. we did a lot of stupid things there..... because each team had to do certain task at the shopping malls. we had to take a picture of us going to KLCC, eating together, an interesting dish, etc. and the security guard was staring at us all the time... ahahahhahaha

wet icebreakers were more fun (girls in white shirts playing with water....... i guess the guys had more fun) though an accident happened involving our poor leader, Dhina. But still he was so semangat... he still went for all the orientation activities apart from the telematch despite him having a twisted wrist and a bad wound on his chin.

then we had treasure hunt. It was one of the most tiring events. (but still couldn't beat the exhaustion i felt during the amazing race treasure hunt in taylors. the organizers were crazy ppl)
we walked to and fro IMU and the national stadium 3 times. and in between that we did stupid things at each station (duckwalk.... did the helicopter a total number of 20+ times, blowing a ping pong ball up a slightly sloped hill (jac ric got hurt here though), doing push ups (the lame way... all i did was bend my elbows a bit... ahahhahahaa that's not even considered a push up by my bro's standard), finding a 5cent coin in a bag of bird feed, blowing flour in each other's face, etc)
guys got it worse than girls though. all the girl's t shirt were still white but the guy's tshirts have turned into an array of colours ranging from green to brown.
eventhough our group completed the treasure hunt first.... we got one of the lowest scores for some odd reason. what the heck.

next was dress code. we were supposed to dress up in diff cultural costumes and i got geisha from japan. our sketch was pretty lame though.
other groups had hard gay. tat was freaking cool and stupid. since when hard gay was a cultural costume (of japan)?

2nd dress code was based on the theme "once upon a time in IMU". each group got random princesses and settings. our group got Princess Peach (frm mario) in a pirate ship (other examples were like princess xena in the toilet, princess belle in a hawker stall, etc) Joanne was the most fab princess you would ever see. She looks so princess like in her dress and crown. Alex was one of the more funny characters wearing an armani cardbox pants. best mario award can go to jeremy. his expressions are priceless.
seniors enjoyed the storyline very much so joanne shud be feeling proud for writing the initial script.

last dress code was making a music video based on a song the seniors gave us. We got Melodi sang by Sheila Masjid and some chinese singer (XD). joanne and alex were the main stars of the event and they did a pretty good job. sanjay and dhina can dance hip hop pretty well.
i laugh each time i see sanjay dancing.

finally...... variety night.
one of the most fun events throughout the whole week. me and pei san did work on the costume with help from the rest of the group members who helped us a bunch.
our sketch kena QCed 3 times eventhough we were supposed to go down the stage by the 2nd QC. hahahaha
Jeremy was the most graceful swan i have ever seen in my life. and the only swan who can dance a bollywood song. And thanks to that he won the best POTW (prince of the wild) and best dressed (WOO HOO!!!)

My IMU Pharmacy Orientation (wee kiat)

Ok, here are some pics taken from my IMU pharmacy orientation that i would like to share with all of you g12s. Sorry its kinda late, my orientation was actually way back in January, about 2 months back. Ok, here goes:

My orientation lasted for about a week, beginning from Monday and ending on Saturday. Here's a brief description of my orientation group. My orientation group is named Pom~Pomtianaks, which came from one of my O.Os(Orientation Officer, which is actually the seniors in charge of our group). It consists of 9 members, and 8O.Os! Our base, where we prepared for most of our orientation activities, is located in Vista Komanwel B, directly opposite IMU. Monday:
The theme for the first day was heroes vs villains, where each of us in a group had to dress up in any of the 10 heroes or villains assigned to us. All groups were assigned the same characters, so you would end up seeing lots of wolverines or matrix duos walking around.

After that, it was treasure hunt time, we had to run all over the komanwel park located just outside IMU. We had garlic water, flour, and chinese ink poured all over us, kind of mild compared to the previous years. It was certainly a tiring 1st day, but nevertheless fun! We ended up being the 1st team on the standings on the 1st day, and amazingly, lead all the way til the end! We were given a very important clue due to that and was a vital part for the upcoming saturday's event, the detective game.

Tuesday:
On Tuesday, it was dance nite, all groups were handed a short audio clip containing 2 songs fused back2back. Ours was the wizard of Oz fused with ShavaShava from the famous Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gam bollywood movie. We practised our dance for 2days, and it turned out just great, hahaha.

Wednesday:
Wednesday's theme was mismatched couples,featuring unlikely couples from different movies.And after that, we went for our anticipated detective game, where we were first shown a short movie and given the task to solve the mystery of the case, meaning to say that we had to determine who was the murderer among the few seniors featured in the movie. It was sort of like the 1st day again, and based on the clue obtained from the treasure hunt on the 1st day, we sort of managed to solve 3/4 of the mystery. We got the murderer right, hehe, thanks to our brilliant and helpful seniors.

Thursday:
On Thursday, it was our very own project runway, all of us had to design clothes from whatever materials assigned to us. As for my group, it was made out from plastic bottles, as u will see in the few pics below:

O!!! And guess what??!! Weison and Winnie were the MODELS for their respective groups for the nite, hahaha, we should get them to tell us their their part of the story...

Friday:
Friday was the final day of our orientation, and the theme of the day was Egyptian nite. There were pharoahs, anubis, mummys, pyramids, so on and so forth. Here are a few pics from Friday's event: I was pyrami

After that, we had our telematch, which was wet, soggy, and way tiring. Ask any one of the pharmacy students from my batch how long they took to clean up after the telematch, and on average, they would definitely say...30 minutes. But of course, it was enjoyable, we even got a chance to hit back on our seniors fro all the things they did to us throughout the whole orientation, hehe. More pics below:

Saturday:
Final day, it was sort of like a closing ceremony. Theme of the day was retro. On this nite, we had perfomances from our seniors, the answers for the detective game in the form of another movie, and also the prize giving ceremony. I must say that the video that revealed the answer for the detective game was simply brilliant, a round of applause to the seniors who produced it.

In short, I really did enjoy the orientation. Though the whole 1 week was exhausting, for all the time spent preparing for the costume and performances for the orientation to the point where i nearly dozed of during lecture hours (oreintation ends at 10.30pm on average everyday, and classes start at 8am), I must say that really had agreat time during this whole orientation. We got to know nearly half of the pharmacy batch, fool around, and most importantly laughed our heads off! If given a chance, I would go for the whole orienatation again, haha. Well, anyhow we would be the ones in charge of organizing the next orientation for our juniors the following year.

We really had a great time thoughout the whole orientation, thanks so much to my team members, for the great times we've had, and also to our seniors, who spent so much time and effort helping us out. You guys were simply amazing!

G12s, how were your orientations? Sook Cheng, Sabrina, Ashwini, and Ganes had a 3week orientation in IMU i heard. Chin Loong, Yik Ming, and Dhars will soon fly off to India .Hardeep and Hui Hua? Stella, Cheryl, and those in Monash? And the rest of you G12s out there.

Do share your orientation experiences with the whole class k, or just about any other thing you would like to share among us all. Let us all G12s remain connected via this blog, haha. Hello everyone! How has life been treating you after SAM?

I am now a student in Monash University Sunway Campus enrolled under the Bachelor of Arts programme. My units are psychology, international studies, writing, and journalism.

My first week in university is far from what it was in college, as many of you would've known by now. We are treated no longer as teenagers, but as growing adults.

Urgh..why am I going on this boring talk. Here's a vid I'd like to share with the whole class:

This is ME! Performing with my band (Distorted Symphony) at HELP University College for it's ice-breaking session for the first year students (2008). The quality of the video isn't all that great. And neither is my voice, I know. But it's OKAY lar! I hope you enjoy the vid!

The first song is "Trees" by Marty Casey and the Lovehammers, and the next one is "I Don't Love You" by My Chemical Romance. We performed four songs that night, and the other two songs didn't make it on tape.

As some of you know, my band joined the Youth '08 Band Competition some while ago, and therefore I couldn't make it for then Genting trip (I SAW THE POST!! IT WAS AWESOME!!). Well, we lost. Haha. But it was all good for it was our second time playing in front of an audience, and we were the youngest band there. Exposure sake, you know?

Okok, i'm supposed to post this up long ago but anyway, here goes. 2 saturdays ago, me, Yi Wen, & Grace went for a trip to ipoh. We left kl from puduraya at around 9.30, & reached there around noon.

DAY 1!

The bus stopped at Terminal Medan Gopeng, where we took a cab to St. Michael's Institution, a really old BOYS school where the likes of Tony and Sandeep were produced. I can't really remember the long history of the school, so if anything, please refer to them. But what i do remember, is that the cab cost us 12 bucks!!! Now we've finally found a place with cabs that are more cut-throat than ss15 Subang Jaya, haha.

Upon reaching there, we waited by the roadside just outside St. Michael's Institution. It was seriously a hot hot sunny day. We waited and waited...& finally...

Tony arrived!!!

He took us across a really big field, shortcut it seems. We were the only jakuns crossing the field, minus an indonesian guy who went the opposite directon.

Upon reaching the 'other' side, we stopped by & had lunch at this little makan place called "Ice Ice Baby", which is kind of similar to the Little Taiwan opposite Taylors. We sat at the most comfortable spot available. Below are some pics of us having lunch there:

& for all the hard effort Yi Wen poured in to take the pics of the food, which means we had to stare at the food for at least 5 minutes each time it arrives before we can start our makan, here are all the pics of the food we had:

Next stop, after all the eating, we went to get some 'Hak Pak' whitch was soya + cincau. Seriously cheap, only 70cents per glass!

Next, we went to Jusco in Ipoh Garden to jalan-jalan & watch movie. & before we knew it, it was already time for dinner. We met up with...
... Sandeep, who took us to 'Ipoh City & Country Club', where we were not into the restaurant. Had to be dressed in 'proper attire', the waiter told us. So we went circling around before finally settling at the 'Royal Perak Golf Club' for dinner at around 9pm.

After makan, we took a drive up to Meru Valley in Jelapang, where we saw all the big big houses which is actually located at a quite isolated area.

DAY 2!

Nothing much on day 2 la, we had breakfast at 'Foh San', a very old & famous Dim Sum restaurant in Ipoh:

Shortly after we filled our stomachs with food, we headed to Sun Yun Loong coffee shop for the famous Ipoh white coffee. Yumm..... It was delicious!

Time flys by to fast, as it was time to head home. Well...that sort of sums up our whole 2 day 1 night trip to Ipoh.

So... WE WENT TO GENTING!
On tues last week me (sook cheng:P), sab, pei chern, yik ming, yi wen, wai beng and preeyaa went off to genting using the bus from 1u. Due to various reasons our group got split up and yi wen, pei chern and preeyaa went ahead to genting at 9am while the rest including me went using the 10:30am bus.
Anyhow.. we got reunited in genting. (which was extremely misty, cold and drizzling)

As it was raining, most of the rides were closed. After a while, the sky cleared up and the rides (thankfully) opened for us :P

So the first attraction that we got on was the Fun Go-karts (the person-in-charge of teaching us how the karts function kept stressing the FUN part to the tourists (from India i think) cause they didn't want the tourists to get too excited and start crashing into each other)

The blasted rain started again shortly after that (lol... after me, pei chern and preeyaa sat on the corkscrew. Pei Chern was so terrified of puking on the ride but after she saw some old man sitting at the front of the roller coaster she toughen up and convinced herself she could go through with it. She did. And she enjoyed the ride (the old man were pretty bored looking on the ride though)

Ohohoho... as soon as the rain stopped.. we went to the Space Shot (or more popularly known as Solero Shot- a nausea inducing machine which purpose is to bring 12 ppl up 20 m? or so and plunge them down to ground in less than a minute. In other words, FUN)

A new batch of SAM students arrives, allowing us to get rid of our stuff (hahahahha) for exG12ians, it was another chance to see each other after the Prom.

On the orientation day, some people I met were sabrina, tony, wai beng, yi wen. On the next day, we met up with a few more people including Hardeep, Pei Chern and Hui Hua. Hope everybody successfully sold off all their books for a good price.
